Havaş extends its ground handling services license in Latvia

Havaş, which is one of the leading companies in ground handling services in Turkey and becoming well-known in the global arena, has extended its ground handling services license at Riga International Airport, the most important airport in Latvia, for seven years. Providing service at Riga International Airport, the largest airport in the Baltics, to several airline companies, particularly to AirBaltic, the flag carrier of the country, Havaş will continue its ground handling services operations in Latvia until 2024.

Havaş General Manager Kürşad Koçak stated: “Having started our operation at Riga Airport since 2010, Havaş has expanded its service network in a very short time and provides ground handling services to various airline companies today. We have extended our operational network by transferring our qualified human resources, know-how and experiences in ground handling business to our station at Riga Airport. In line with these qualifications, AirBaltic, which we provide ground handling services to its operations at Riga Airport, was selected as the most punctual airline in the world in Havaş's fifth year of operation. As part of our activities that we focus to raise the bar to a higher level through continuous innovations and improvements, Havaş is glad to have been granted the extension of ground handling services license at Riga for seven years for the second time. We will continue our operations unabatedly".

Havaş offers full passenger and operation services including passenger and baggage handling, ramp, aircraft cleaning, load control and communication, de-icing, cargo, flight operations, transportation, representation and supervision services to AirBaltic, Turkish Airlines, SAS, Ukraine International Airlines, UTair, Aegean Airlines, Onurair, Freebird and Corendon at Riga International Airport. AirBaltic Airlines, which receives ground handling services from Havaş at Riga Airport, was granted 'The Most Punctual Airline in the World' by OAG Aviation Solutions, a UK based research company, in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, Havaş handled more than 1 million luggage at Riga Airport and provided service to 21,502 flights and approximately 2.2 million passengers.
